This morning I woke up with a sentence nagging in my head and I just want to share it with you in this early morning post. All throughout the night I had this words roaming around in my mind "The word of God-read it and live it". This words reminded me that the word of God isn't just a novel to read and throw it back on the shelf, rather it is a manual book that has to be read, and what has been read applied to our daily life.
We are always going to come across problems in our daily lives, and the best way to overcome these problems is by applying the word of God in those circumstances. For instance, when we are faced by anger and fear, we should remember what the word of God has to say about anger or fear and act on it. Nowadays many Christians have turned the Bible into a fashioned book that is designed to be kept on the shelf and left there for people to see that we are Christians and have the Bible, but there is a great need for all of us who prophesy to be Christians to pick up the book, read it, and apply what it says to our lives.
We fall into sin because, we are not reading or applying what this lovely manual has to say, sometimes we are just picking up the verses that satisfy us, but what about those left behind, aren't we supposed to be reading them? The word of God should entirely be read and applied in our lives no matter what.
I just want you and I to take sometime to think it over. Jesus overcame the evil by quoting what the word of God had to say about those circumstances, don't we think that we should be doing the same thing if we are true followers of Christ? Jesus didn't just read the word, he acted on the word. We also ought to act on the word, rather than just being readers of the word. As it has been said that faith without action is dead, the same applies to the word. Word without doing what is says is dead.
We as believers in Christ have got to live by the word of God no matter the circumstances, the word of God is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path, therefore we have got to live by what it says. We need to hide the Lord's word in our hearts so that we might not sin against Him. Let us all read the word and act on it, this is my call this morning.
This was a remind that God placed in my mind this morning. I don't know why God placed this thought in my mind, but I am assured this is for the greater good for all of us.
Because of His love I am a secured package
Rumishael Ulomi,
