Letting go of your past hurts with Jesus's love and compassion!

“If you let go a little, you will have a little peace. If you let go a lot, you will have a lot of peace.” ~Ajahn Chah

Before I go to bed this evening I just want you and I to take some time to remind ourselves about letting things go.

I can’t imagine how many people out there are living in deep hurts. We’ve all been hurt by another person at some time or another we were treated badly, trust was broken, hearts were hurt. And while this pain is normal, sometimes that pain lingers for too long. We relive the pain over and over, and have a hard time letting go. We’ve all been hurt. You can’t be an adult, teen, or a child alive today who hasn’t experienced some kind of emotional pain. We cling to frustration and worry about the future, as if the act of fixation somehow gives us power. We hold stress in our minds and bodies, potentially creating serious health issues, and accept that state of tension as the norm. People are living painful lives; hurts have kept them from moving on. Someone might have hurted you in the past and you are holding it on; you haven’t found the strength to let it all go. It's human nature to be concerned about the bad situations in our world and in our personal lives, but if we're not careful, the devil will cause us to worry beyond what's reasonable. We need to learn to let go. We need to be able to forgive, so we can move on and be happy. Well, I am about to let you know that, it is possible to let all those hurts that are holding back fade away. There is no need to remain in them. You have a master who has set you free from all hurts and bondage, especially those from the past. If you have made the choice to come to Christ, then you should know how joyful this kind of life is. You should know that Christ doesn’t want you to remain in any of those hurts, He desires for you to be free once and for all. Forgiveness does not mean you erase the past, or forget what has happened. It doesn’t even mean the other person will change his behavior you cannot control that. All it means is that you are letting go of the anger and pain, and moving on to a better place.

Ephesians 4:31 ‘Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice’.

Matthew 6:14 ‘For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you,

Romans 12:19 ‘Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”

Hebrews 12:15  ‘See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;

If we want to make a step in the kingdom of God and glorify Jesus, we have got to let our past hurts go. We have got to trust Jesus for all that He has promised to do, this means with all those hurts in our hearts, we are assured that He will heal us, we have got to trust Him and let him take over the wheel. Today, if you have got any hurt that has been holding you back; I want you to put your trust in Jesus and let it all walk away behind you. Don’t ever hold on, because if you continue to hold on, you are just hurting yourself. You’re just creating yourself a weary heart, which is something that Christ never wants us to live by. Keeping hurts in your heart will just destroy you both physically and spiritually. I know that it’s very hard to let something that has hurted you so much go, but at one point of view, it’s all about freeing your own soul, its all about casting your cares and worries on Christ.

Psalm 55:22, ‘Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.’

1 Peter 5:7, ‘Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.’

It’s very hard to carry the burden on your own; you have got to cast all your worries on Jesus. Let Him carry that hurt for you. If you continue thinking over all those hurt, whether present or past, you will just hurt yourself. If you ever want to live a better life, then you have got to let all that hurt go. If you want to have a better relationship with Jesus, you have got to let it all go behind you. It’s hard to do so, but if you have chosen to believe in Jesus, then you have got to cast all those hurts on Him. If he was able to bare all the pain on the cross I am sure that he can bare all the pain you are carrying right now. There is nothing that you are passing through that Jesus has never gone through, that’s why he can sympathies with us when we are passing through tough times. If you have any hurts hidden in your heart, let Jesus be the center of it all. The more you trust in Jesus, the more you are freed from this bondage of hurts. Trusting in Jesus is a risk that once taken you will never regret. And I am arguing you today, to take that step to trust Jesus with all your hurts. He can look after it all. It might feel like He is not there, but He is there for you. Sometimes we take things to the Lord and leave them at the foot of the cross, only for a few moments later to take them back again. Just because we don’t see the air that we breathe does not mean we stop breathing, and just because we don’t see the answer to our prayers right away, does not mean we stop believing. Hold fast, keep believing, for God is the God of the breakthrough. The God of miracles, the God who delights to answer our prayers. If we seek Him in the midst of our hurts, we will find Him, so let us seek Him so that He can help us let go of our past and present hurts that hunts us down. Hurts that take our life’s joy aware can be healed by Jesus Christ if take the time to believe and trust Him. Jesus will always bring us through. He will always be our anchor through the storms of life. Seek Him today in the midst of your hurts, you will find Him. Surely you will find Him and He will take the burden of your shoulder. When it comes to God, your past is not your destiny. What matters is now, not yesterday.

So after talking all these, are you ready to let all those hurts fade away for God’s glory.

May the grace of the living God help you in overcoming your past hurts that you keep clinging on. May His sufficient love guard and protect you.

Because of His love, I am a secured package forever,

Should Your Religion Be Based On Your Feelings? Here is the answer..

Should a person decide what to believe based on his or her feelings or something that does not change with moods and circumstances? Big question! Imagine Jesus of Nazareth nailed up on the cross, dying for our sins. Suppose He said, “This is not fun. I am not feeling anything good up here. Let me off this cross. I expected good feelings, not this! Pain is not where it is at for Me. My commitment to die to pay the penalty for man’s sin is far beyond what I am feeling right now.” How would you have counseled Jesus when the bad pain hit Him? Feelings based religion is shaky. Commitments based on good feelings are subject to change any day. This unbiblical approach would make all our commitments very tentative, unpredictable, shaky. This includes: marriage, family, job and friends. A marriage vow would only mean, “I’ll stay with you as long as my good feelings last. I expect only good times, no bad ones.” Jesus did not bail out when the going got tough. Some beliefs a Christian should also...

The second necessary step in designing a successful nonprofit strategy is knowing your beneficiaries

Last week I started a series of blog posts on building a strong and successful strategy for your nonprofit and I started with mentioning the first necessary step you will need to examine before kicking off with your strategy. If you haven’t read that post, I recommend that you visit the article HERE before continuing with this one. Having familiarity with the first article will help you understand this one even much better. This week we are looking at the second step to take when designing your nonprofit strategy, and that step in designing and building a strong and successful strategy for your nonprofit is clearly knowing, stating, and understanding who your beneficiaries are. Some organizations talk about beneficiaries, others refer to participants, others to clients, service users or partners. Here we will refer to beneficiaries as the people whom your nonprofit seeks to benefit. The reason why many nonprofit strategies fail is because too often nonprofits and funders ignore the con...

Being set free by the master who holds the keys to life

After Jesus died on the cross He went down to hell, crushed the devil, and took the keys of life. The devil held us prisoners to fear of death, but now we are given the chance to enjoy eternal life with God the father. The greatest gift the human race can ever earn. It’s all free of charge to be set free, for the master has promised to do this free of charge to all those who desire to be free. If you have not yet accepted Christ, then you are still in a prison cell and you need to be freed from this. The only way that can happen is if you humble yourself and come to the master who has the keys to set you free. If you are in the devils prison, you can’t save yourself, not matter how good you think you are in escaping. You will never be able to escape until you let the master who took the keys set you free. You will try million ways and times, but I assure you, you will never succeed on your own. Many of you may say ‘well I am free’, I can assure you that you are only free in the flesh; ...
