The kind of authority the VIP-Leader ought to practice in the VIP-Leadership Community of God

The shepherd is one who has several roles in regard to his sheep. He leads, feeds, nurtures, comforts, corrects and protects. The shepherd of the Lord’s flock leads by modeling godliness and righteousness in his own life and encouraging others to follow his example. As we continue on where we left of last time (Becoming the VIP-Leader in the christian Community) in this weeks post I would like to talk about ( The kind of Authority the VIP-Leader has to practice in leading).

Here is how John Piper from DesiringGod.org sees the kind of leader I am about to talk about 'I define spiritual leadership as knowing where God wants people to be and taking the initiative to use God's methods to get them there in reliance on God's power'

So let's take a look at the big picture. If a Christian leader is not aware on whose authority he or she is practicing, they will not be able to finish the race well. We see this in Saul as the king of Israel. He starts his leadership as a king chosen by God to lead his people, the nation of Israel, God’s representatives on the earth, but at the end of the day he fails to accomplish the task commissioned to him. And why is that? Because he starts to think for himself and practices his own authority, where patient and total dependence on God was required his response and practice of authority was different from what God had desired for him. Forgetting the fact on whose behalf he was leading the children of Israel, led to his failure as a king. If we as Christian leaders fail to see whose authority we are practicing this might lead us to political troubles and failure in the position we have been commissioned to. If we want to make it to the VIP-Leadership Community of God, we have to remember that we represent someone who bears a much greater authority that we do. We need to be reminded that we represent the king of kings and the Lord of Lords whose authority is beyond our measures and understanding, whose authority we cannot comprehend. By knowing that we are just delegates practicing His authority, like Moses we will become humble leaders who are used by God and exulted by Him.

With all the wonders and miracles in Egypt, Moses always remembered whose authority he was practicing and this made him the most humble leader in Biblical historical times. If we by any chance want to become the VIP-Leaders in the Christian community, let us learn from Moses, let us follow his footsteps. Let us learn that, it’s not the level of our education that has the power and authority, rather know that it’s God who has the authority we are practicing. We have to remember that we are instruments delegated by God to rule with Christ in His kingdom. We have no authority of our own; rather we are practicing the authority given to us by God. As leaders commissioned by God we ought to remember whose authority we are practicing. If we do not see this picture, then somewhere along the Road, like Saul the first king of Israel will fail, we will fail the task we have been commissioned to accomplish as leaders in God’s chosen community. We always have to remember whose authority we are practicing; this will help us to remain humbled and exulted by God for His glory. If we lose this concept of knowing whose authority we are practicing, then we also loose our Godly given leadership potentials and we are no longer the VIP-leaders in the Christian community who are chosen to serve for His glory.

As Christian leaders we represent a greater authority than the one we bear if we are on ourselves. Our leadership skills are developed and shaped by the authority that is exercised over us, if we fail to see this, then we also fail the greatest task that is ahead of us as Christian leaders called for his purpose.  If we want to be those leaders who influence others for God, it should always be our desire to be submissive to His authority, to why I have to remind you that to be a VIP-Leader in the Christian Community, you have to be aware of whose authority you are practicing and for whom you are leading. So, leaders commissioned to serve for the glory of God, let us forget not His wise principle that has been set before us. Let us forget not whose authority we are practicing when it comes to Christian leadership. We have to remember that the kingdom belongs to God, and we are not the king, He alone is the king over all that we are delegated to oversee. We are just people on whom God has delegated His authority to govern His people. Always be submissive to the greatest authority over you and know on whose behalf you are leading for. Our humility at all times will make us strong leaders who will lead Yahweh’s people as Moses did.  Remember that, this humility should be based on our attitudes of spirit toward God, whose authority we are exercising over those whom He has given us to lead. We who wants to be VIP-Leaders in the community of God should always seek to be the connecting link between God and His people. We want those who we lead to see God’s authority in us as we lead them.

Having said all that, now let us be great leaders in the powerful kingdom of God which we are heirs of through Christ Jesus. Let us develop love for God and be a generation of leaders that are after God’s heart, a generation of leaders who submit to God’s rule as king over all. As Moses the greatest prophet of all time was a representative of God’s authority on earth, let us desire this from God as well. We are commissioned to be leaders who represent God’s authority, let us be like God, reflecting His as a leader.

I hope you find this post a blessing to you as you look forward to being that VIP-Leader for God’s chosen generation. May it build you up for God’s glory, may it help you in the expansion of His greatest kingdom. From time to time I will be writing posts that will help you become a VIP-Leader in the Christian Community, do don’t miss a post.

Because of His love, I am a secured package,

Should Your Religion Be Based On Your Feelings? Here is the answer..

Should a person decide what to believe based on his or her feelings or something that does not change with moods and circumstances? Big question! Imagine Jesus of Nazareth nailed up on the cross, dying for our sins. Suppose He said, “This is not fun. I am not feeling anything good up here. Let me off this cross. I expected good feelings, not this! Pain is not where it is at for Me. My commitment to die to pay the penalty for man’s sin is far beyond what I am feeling right now.” How would you have counseled Jesus when the bad pain hit Him? Feelings based religion is shaky. Commitments based on good feelings are subject to change any day. This unbiblical approach would make all our commitments very tentative, unpredictable, shaky. This includes: marriage, family, job and friends. A marriage vow would only mean, “I’ll stay with you as long as my good feelings last. I expect only good times, no bad ones.” Jesus did not bail out when the going got tough. Some beliefs a Christian should also...

The second necessary step in designing a successful nonprofit strategy is knowing your beneficiaries

Last week I started a series of blog posts on building a strong and successful strategy for your nonprofit and I started with mentioning the first necessary step you will need to examine before kicking off with your strategy. If you haven’t read that post, I recommend that you visit the article HERE before continuing with this one. Having familiarity with the first article will help you understand this one even much better. This week we are looking at the second step to take when designing your nonprofit strategy, and that step in designing and building a strong and successful strategy for your nonprofit is clearly knowing, stating, and understanding who your beneficiaries are. Some organizations talk about beneficiaries, others refer to participants, others to clients, service users or partners. Here we will refer to beneficiaries as the people whom your nonprofit seeks to benefit. The reason why many nonprofit strategies fail is because too often nonprofits and funders ignore the con...

Being set free by the master who holds the keys to life

After Jesus died on the cross He went down to hell, crushed the devil, and took the keys of life. The devil held us prisoners to fear of death, but now we are given the chance to enjoy eternal life with God the father. The greatest gift the human race can ever earn. It’s all free of charge to be set free, for the master has promised to do this free of charge to all those who desire to be free. If you have not yet accepted Christ, then you are still in a prison cell and you need to be freed from this. The only way that can happen is if you humble yourself and come to the master who has the keys to set you free. If you are in the devils prison, you can’t save yourself, not matter how good you think you are in escaping. You will never be able to escape until you let the master who took the keys set you free. You will try million ways and times, but I assure you, you will never succeed on your own. Many of you may say ‘well I am free’, I can assure you that you are only free in the flesh; ...
