“Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:19
God’s law is summarized in one word—love. When asked to identify the “great commandment in the law,” Jesus Christ replied,
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with your entire mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets (Matthew 22:37–40).
Jesus Christ explained that the 10 Commandments and all of God’s laws are based on God’s most prominent characteristic: love.
Proverbs 29:18: “Happy is he who keeps the law.”
One way we can show that we love God is by teaching others his commandments. It is our duty to live by God’s commandments and teach others to follow them. We have been called for this purpose, and if we love Him, then this should be our destiny.
If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother (1 John 4:20–21).
We should be examples of living the gospel. Our examples can inspire others to obey the commandments. The Savior told His disciples, “Ye are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). The peace and happiness we feel from living the gospel will show in our actions, in our words, and in the power of our testimony.
If we love God with all our hearts, we should desire to be a Moses and teach others God’s commandments. We are to inspire others to love God and obey his commands. If we truly love God this is something that will show that. Reaching out to others; Teaching the Word of God; and Sending disciples out to bring in others.
Because of His love on Calvary, I am a secured package
