Fundraising techniques for Nonprofits during the COVID-19 lockdown

It is a critical time for nonprofits to fundraise and be creative in their approach As the coronavirus pandemic reduces the options for fundraising yet further, with one in four people on the planet facing some form of severe restriction on their movements, it’s time to share some fundraising Techniques that will empower your Nonprofit to continue operating through these difficult times.

So what fundraising activities can Nonprofits get engaged in during the Covid19 Pandemic?

Reach out through your network

Of course many people are not in this position and are in a precarious financial position, and we know for sure that some of our current donors might be passing through tough times and are not in a position to make a contribution to our cause. However, we should not underestimate the power of networking, there are still plenty of other ways they can give or make a difference to your nonprofit organization. Nonprofit organizations can ask their current donors to reach out to new potential donors. This can be as simple as asking your current donors and supporters to reach out to at least three other people in their networks to donate to your nonprofit. If the people they reach out to also reach out to other three more people and so on, you can rapidly increase your number of donors in a short time. Simply because the economy appears to be in free fall, don’t make assumptions what your donors will and will not do, or what they can or cannot give.

At the end of the day ‘DON’T FORGET TO THANK YOUR DONORS’. Gratitude goes far, especially when people are stressed. Take the time to extend genuine and heartfelt thank you’s to donors. Go out of your way to pick up the phone, handwrite notes, and even say thank you in person when you can. Don’t take any donor for granted.

Search and Apply for grants

Some governments, foundations and corporations are offering COVID-19-related emergency grants. Set aside some time to research opportunities you might be eligible for. Search online and ask friends if they know of any foundation or government offering Covid-19 related grants.

Apply Social Distancing by moving online

With most of the world social distancing, it’s time to take your fundraising efforts online. Online fundraising is a way for nonprofit organizations to raise money via the internet. It usually involves an online donation page and can include mobile giving, peer-to-peer fundraising, and more. Online fundraising can help your nonprofit organization raise more money even with the Covid19 Pandemic on the move. If you do not already have an online donation form, now is the time to make one. You can include a link to the form in your communications and on your website.

If you are a person who loves fundraising for charities and the Covid19 has impacted you on accomplishing your dreams, here are some ideas on how you can continue fundraising and supporting your local charity even with the coronavirus lockdown in place.

SOMETHING TO REMEMBER:

When fundraising during this difficult times, always remember to ask for what you need. If your needs have increased due to Coronavirus or the downturn in the economy, let your donors know. Don’t be shy and hold back. Share what you need and offer ways your donors can help. They just might surprise you (in a good way).

Should Your Religion Be Based On Your Feelings? Here is the answer..

Should a person decide what to believe based on his or her feelings or something that does not change with moods and circumstances? Big question! Imagine Jesus of Nazareth nailed up on the cross, dying for our sins. Suppose He said, “This is not fun. I am not feeling anything good up here. Let me off this cross. I expected good feelings, not this! Pain is not where it is at for Me. My commitment to die to pay the penalty for man’s sin is far beyond what I am feeling right now.” How would you have counseled Jesus when the bad pain hit Him? Feelings based religion is shaky. Commitments based on good feelings are subject to change any day. This unbiblical approach would make all our commitments very tentative, unpredictable, shaky. This includes: marriage, family, job and friends. A marriage vow would only mean, “I’ll stay with you as long as my good feelings last. I expect only good times, no bad ones.” Jesus did not bail out when the going got tough. Some beliefs a Christian should also...

The second necessary step in designing a successful nonprofit strategy is knowing your beneficiaries

Last week I started a series of blog posts on building a strong and successful strategy for your nonprofit and I started with mentioning the first necessary step you will need to examine before kicking off with your strategy. If you haven’t read that post, I recommend that you visit the article HERE before continuing with this one. Having familiarity with the first article will help you understand this one even much better. This week we are looking at the second step to take when designing your nonprofit strategy, and that step in designing and building a strong and successful strategy for your nonprofit is clearly knowing, stating, and understanding who your beneficiaries are. Some organizations talk about beneficiaries, others refer to participants, others to clients, service users or partners. Here we will refer to beneficiaries as the people whom your nonprofit seeks to benefit. The reason why many nonprofit strategies fail is because too often nonprofits and funders ignore the con...

Being set free by the master who holds the keys to life

After Jesus died on the cross He went down to hell, crushed the devil, and took the keys of life. The devil held us prisoners to fear of death, but now we are given the chance to enjoy eternal life with God the father. The greatest gift the human race can ever earn. It’s all free of charge to be set free, for the master has promised to do this free of charge to all those who desire to be free. If you have not yet accepted Christ, then you are still in a prison cell and you need to be freed from this. The only way that can happen is if you humble yourself and come to the master who has the keys to set you free. If you are in the devils prison, you can’t save yourself, not matter how good you think you are in escaping. You will never be able to escape until you let the master who took the keys set you free. You will try million ways and times, but I assure you, you will never succeed on your own. Many of you may say ‘well I am free’, I can assure you that you are only free in the flesh; ...
