Example of a constructive feedback to motivate, change, and Inspire

Here is an example of constructive feedback to an employee who is holding others on the team back. Please note that this is just an example, the name John here is used as an example and it does not refer to a real person. This is just an example I wrote on how I would have given constructive feedback, I hope that you find it helpful.

I asked the employee to meet me in my office during the afternoon hours...

Good afternoon John, How are you today?

Thank you very much for taking the time to meet with me this afternoon, I am glad that you could make it on very short notice. I promise that I won’t take much of your time, as I know that you are a very busy person always working hard to bring out the best of our organization. And on top of it all, I would personally like to thank you for choosing to work with our organization. You are a valuable member of our team, and your positive attitude has helped us all continue to feel motivated. It has been a reward having you here. I hope that you enjoy working with our organization and feel at home.

As promised, I won’t take much of your time. I just asked you to come in so we might have a talk on how we can move things forward better. As you’ve noticed, things are moving really fast, and in order for us to succeed in such a competitive environment and serve people better, we need to be on top of everything.  We are facing competition on the market and time and cost pressures internally.  This was the reason that led to our last meeting, where we had the chance to discuss what we needed to do in order to move forward. As you can remember, the outcome and agreement of that meeting were that, if we needed to effectively manage these circumstances and encourage innovation, we all need to be a part of a team culture that encourages rapidly testing and iterating upon new ideas. We also agreed that there should be rapidly testing and iterating upon new ideas.

However, I have learned that as a man who is always committed to delivering the best, this has become a challenge to you. With all these changes taking place, I have noticed a change in your performance lately which is somehow contrary to what we agreed upon as a team.  I can see that you are struggling with wanting to find the perfect solution before taking action. Though this is done with the best intentions in mind for both the team and the entire organization, it is somehow causing delays, impacting team performance, and frustration for many team members as they feel held back. I understand that it is difficult to adjust to these new ways of doing things, and this is why I wanted to check in with you to discuss any challenges you might be facing, and see how I can support you better so that you can feel more comfortable with adjusting to these changes.

I want you to know that in the midst of all these changes, I and the team are here for you, you can count on us. I would like you to work more with the team. And if there is anything I can do to help you in the future, I would appreciate you coming to me with any issues affecting your feelings toward work, or any other challenges that you might be facing, so that we can work on them together.

You have consistently produced great work for our team and connected us with valuable clients, and I would really love to see this spirit continue and move with these new changes. If you have anything that bothers you, please feel free to share it with me.

Thanks for your time! Thanks for coming in!

I hope that it was helpful.

Should Your Religion Be Based On Your Feelings? Here is the answer..

Should a person decide what to believe based on his or her feelings or something that does not change with moods and circumstances? Big question! Imagine Jesus of Nazareth nailed up on the cross, dying for our sins. Suppose He said, “This is not fun. I am not feeling anything good up here. Let me off this cross. I expected good feelings, not this! Pain is not where it is at for Me. My commitment to die to pay the penalty for man’s sin is far beyond what I am feeling right now.” How would you have counseled Jesus when the bad pain hit Him? Feelings based religion is shaky. Commitments based on good feelings are subject to change any day. This unbiblical approach would make all our commitments very tentative, unpredictable, shaky. This includes: marriage, family, job and friends. A marriage vow would only mean, “I’ll stay with you as long as my good feelings last. I expect only good times, no bad ones.” Jesus did not bail out when the going got tough. Some beliefs a Christian should also...

The second necessary step in designing a successful nonprofit strategy is knowing your beneficiaries

Last week I started a series of blog posts on building a strong and successful strategy for your nonprofit and I started with mentioning the first necessary step you will need to examine before kicking off with your strategy. If you haven’t read that post, I recommend that you visit the article HERE before continuing with this one. Having familiarity with the first article will help you understand this one even much better. This week we are looking at the second step to take when designing your nonprofit strategy, and that step in designing and building a strong and successful strategy for your nonprofit is clearly knowing, stating, and understanding who your beneficiaries are. Some organizations talk about beneficiaries, others refer to participants, others to clients, service users or partners. Here we will refer to beneficiaries as the people whom your nonprofit seeks to benefit. The reason why many nonprofit strategies fail is because too often nonprofits and funders ignore the con...

Being set free by the master who holds the keys to life

After Jesus died on the cross He went down to hell, crushed the devil, and took the keys of life. The devil held us prisoners to fear of death, but now we are given the chance to enjoy eternal life with God the father. The greatest gift the human race can ever earn. It’s all free of charge to be set free, for the master has promised to do this free of charge to all those who desire to be free. If you have not yet accepted Christ, then you are still in a prison cell and you need to be freed from this. The only way that can happen is if you humble yourself and come to the master who has the keys to set you free. If you are in the devils prison, you can’t save yourself, not matter how good you think you are in escaping. You will never be able to escape until you let the master who took the keys set you free. You will try million ways and times, but I assure you, you will never succeed on your own. Many of you may say ‘well I am free’, I can assure you that you are only free in the flesh; ...
